Ridgecrest thanks the SKSR for their generous grants to three of our teachers!
The Sno-King School Retirees (SKSR) is an organization of retired and current employees of the Edmonds, Northshore, and Shoreline School Districts. Each year SKSR awards mini-grants of up to $400 to its active members and their students by funding requests that orinite active student involvement, enrich classroom experiences, provide atypical school experiences, and augment existing curriculum.
Since 1998, SKSR has awarded over $139,000 in such grants; of that, Ridgecrest staff have received $3,918 since 2008. This year, three Ridgecrest teachers are receiving grants.
First grade teacher Susan Clyde will use her grant to help pay for an all-school assembly with Alex Zerbe.
Monica Holdridge, K-5 reading specialist, requested UFLI-aligned readers, decodable chapter books, and decodable readers for LAP and MLL students.
Fourth grade teacher Stephanie Laviola has requested art supplies, including pastels, washable tempera paint, sharpies, tissue paper and multicultural construction paper to use in teaching the seven elements of art.
Ridgecrest Elementary School extends their most sincere gratitude to the Sno-King School Retirees for their incredibly generous grants to support our wonderful students! We thank you for your continued support!
