Summer Break is a great time to make sure you're registered with ParentSquare and have your notifications configured in the ways that work best for you!

What is ParentSquare?

ParentSquare is the primary communication tool that Shoreline School District, schools, and teachers use to communicate with families on a daily basis and in case of emergency.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Get messages via email, text, or app
  • Two-way texting with translation between staff and families
  • Choose to receive information as it comes, or all at once each evening
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Securely direct message with teachers and staff

Registering with ParentSquare

Why do you need to register?

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using the primary email address and phone number you gave your school office (also the email used by Family Access). You will, by default, receive emergency alerts automatically and school/district post notifications in a "daily digest" format.

To customize your notification settings, interact using the app, complete forms such as field trip permission slips, and more, you need to register with ParentSquare.

Register with ParentSquare in one of these ways:

  1. Email message or text message sent to you by the school to activate your account.
  2. Visit parentsquare.com and use the email account or phone number you have on record with school to activate a new account.
  3. Download the ParentSquare app on your iOS or Android phone and request activation.
TIP!

We strongly recommend downloading and using the ParentSquare app, where you can configure your settings, read information in your chosen language, and message directly with school teachers and staff.

Managing Your ParentSquare Notifications

Each person has different ways that they manage school communications and prefer to receive information, and the settings within ParentSquare are customizable for you!

Parent/Guardian users of ParentSquare can configure the following options:

  • Notification preferences by school, for those who have children in more than one Shoreline school
  • Email, text, and app notifications are each configurable as:
    • Digest setting, which means you get one notice at the end of the day with all messages and posts
    • Instant setting, which means you see a notice each time there's a post or message related to your child or their school
    • Off, which means you will receive no notifications (other than emergency alerts) in that mode

TIP!

Users in Shoreline School District are defaulted to the email digest setting, but each person should consider what works best for them so they don't miss important information from their schools.
